During the Hindutan Times Leadership Summit 2022, George Clooney was asked why he turned down $35 million for a day’s work.
On the final day of the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit 2022, Hollywood star George Clooney joined Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor for a conversation about movies, work, and million-dollar paycheques.George was questioned at the event as to whether or not it was true that he once turned down $35 million for just one day’s work.“Yeah, you know what? I had a conversation about it, and the main topic was whether you’ll be paid. There is a reason why people want to pay a lot of money, and typically it is to sort of whitewash the situation.Amazing individuals were imprisoned in Saudi Arabia for advocating for the rights of women.Additionally, these individuals were extorting hundreds of millions of dollars in order to conceal their wrongdoing. And I find it difficult to do that,” he stated.
“Also, I find it difficult to take that money and use my reputation to try to clean their own when your employer is also destroying the civil and human rights of the people. My reputation, in my opinion, is worth more than that.My wife, Amal Clooney, and I had a lengthy discussion about using the money for a foundation; however, there is a cost, and for me, that cost is not my reputation. He went on to say that “what my parents taught me to be really wasn’t for sale.”
George had previously discussed the same incident in an interview with The Guardian last year.I was offered $35 million for a single day of work as an airline commercial, but after discussing it with Amal, we decided that it wasn’t worth it.It was associated with a nation that, despite being an ally, occasionally raises questions, so I thought,He had stated, “Well, if it takes even a minute away from me’s sleep, it’s not worth it.”
