With his next film, India Lockdown, director Madhur Bhandarkar aims to depict the atrocities of the Covid-19 lockdown in India. In a recent interview, Madhur discussed how Prateik Babbar’s casting in the movie had been questioned because of his snobbish reputation. In the movie, Prateik plays a migrant worker. The author of India Lockdown describes how the 2020 lockdown changed people’s life all around the country. Aahana Kumra is a pilot who turns to day drinking after being confined to her home, in contrast to Shweta Basu Prasad, who portrays a sex worker concerned about her daily income. Prateik Babbar won the most praise for his novel portrayal of a daily wage labourer in the India Lockdown teaser, which the film’s creators recently published.

Prateik is absolutely fantastic in the movie, Madhur Bhandarkar said when discussing the casting of the actor who had never been seen in such a role before. They all reacted negatively when I suggested casting Prateik in this part to my crew. Sir, how are you doing today? What is the function of migrant workers? What’s wrong with you? Yeh thodi koi Sobo, Page 3 type role hain jo woh karega Prateik has no reason to play a migrant worker. It is not an elite position. It was quite difficult for me. I proclaimed, “I’ll get him a job.” Let me handle it.
