Top Gun: Maverick, which was released in 2022, 36 years after the sequel to the first Top Gun (1986), will be rereleased in American theatres for two weeks by Paramount Pictures. Following a successful run on Indian theatres, the movie is still available in India via the OTT service Amazon Prime Video.
The aviation-themed movie received almost universal appreciation from both online users and movie critics for being a terrific summer entertainer and staying loyal to the original movie’s standards. Tom Cruise played the unusual fighter jet pilot who fails to follow instructions and always has his own ideas about how to carry out missions into enemy lines, but whose unique techniques always wind up saving the day for the Air Force and Navy. Cruise repeated his part with aplomb.
