Kajol and Vishal Jethwa starrer Salaam Venky is slated to hit the big screens on 9th December 2022. It marks the comeback of Revathy as a director, and there’s a decent pre-release buzz about the film. But, this year, moviegoers have been quite choosy in going to theatres and watching the movies, and films that were of the slice-of-life dramas genre, have failed to make a mark at the box office. So, will Salaam Venky do well at the box office?
Recently spoke to producer and film business expert, Girish Johar, and asked about what can be the opening of Salaam Venky. He told us, “Salaam Venky is a very urban, high-concept film. It’s a human drama and it has a very limited appeal. I hope that it touches the right chords, and it also depends a lot on word of mouth. On Friday, it will take a slow start, but I hope it has a good Saturday and Sunday and stays stable on Monday onwards.”
