The movie reached the billion dollar mark in little under two weeks, despite having premiered in several other countries before the US. Currently, it is anticipated to end up costing between between $1.6 and $1.9 billion overall.

Way of the Water, which outperformed Jurassic World: Dominion ($1 billion) at the global box office, is currently in second place going into 2023.
