The forthcoming Deadpool 2 and potentially the Wolverine 2 will include the actors Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds together. Hugh Jackman has requested in a video that the Academy not recognise Ryan Renolds with an Oscar nomination until they collaborate.
Renolds and Will Ferrel acted together in the 2022 movie Spirited. According to some rumours, the Academy is reportedly considering proposing the movie’s song Good Afternoon, which was sung by both Renolds and Ferrel. In response to these rumours, Jackman made a video asking the Academy not to take the nomination into consideration.
Ryan Reynolds receiving a nomination in the category for best song, Jackman said, “would make the next year of my life intolerable.” I have to spend a year with him filming Wolverine and Deadpool, he continued. It would not be feasible, I assure you. It would be a difficulty.” Prior to expressing this, he made it clear that he personally adored the song and the movie.
Regarding his career, Hugh Jackman is now finishing off his Broadway run of The Music Man. He will begin shooting the third Deadpool feature, which is expected to be released in 2024.
