Chhello Show (Last Film Show), India’s official entry for the Academy Awards, was screened for the Oscar voters in Los Angeles as part of a special event organised by Priyanka Chopra-Jonas.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences members attended a dinner event in Los Angeles after the film.

Along with Decision to Leave from South Korea, Holy Spider from Denmark, and Joyland from Pakistan, Last Film Show is one of 15 films on the 95th Academy Awards’ shortlist for Best International Feature Film.

The main actor of the movie, Bhavin Rabari, as well as the director and producer of the movie, Dheer Momaya, were present at the Los Angeles event, together with a large number of Academy members.

I feel it’s a very amazing moment for our movies, and I feel so happy to be able to always be the shoulders for people from my nation, from my business, Priyanka said to the attendees at the event. Naturally, Pan Nalin, who is among the most active filmmakers in our nation. I adore the film Angry Indian Goddesses that he created.

I’ve been a fan of his ever since I saw that movie, she said. I couldn’t wait to watch the Last Film Show that he co-directed with Siddharth and Dheer Momaya.

In a joint statement, producers Siddharth Roy Kapur and Dheer Momaya, together with director Pan Nalin, said: “Priyanka is an international icon, a really gifted performer, and above all, a genuinely kind person. We are deeply moved by her decision to offer this screening as a way of showing her support for the Last Film Show. The team was overjoyed to learn how much she enjoyed the movie, especially the little actors’ performances.”

In addition to Roy Kapur Films in India, Samuel Goldwyn Films distributed the movie in the United States. The movie is being released in France by Orange Studios, while Shochiku Studios and Medusa are bringing it to theatres in Japan and Italy, respectively.
