The CBFC awarded Kuttey, Aasmaan Bhardwaj’s directorial debut, an A certificate and requested ten revisions.

According to a Bollywood Hungama article, the majority of the adjustments entailed adding or changing disclaimers. A disclaimer was inserted at the beginning of the film noting that neither the director nor anybody connected with it intended to disrespect or disparage the reputation of the police or any other group of people in any way. The second disclaimer claims that nobody in the movie supports or encourages kids to commit crimes of any kind. The anti-smoking ticker’s text size was raised throughout the smoking sequences, and an anti-drug disclaimer was also included.

Some cuss words were also changed. It has also been removed from the subtitles in such dialogues.

A dialogue ‘Naya naya muslman’ was also changed to by ‘Naya naya pandu’. Lastly, the mention of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh has been removed from the scene of the Prime Minister’s speech.There were also visual changes and scenes with frontal nudity were “modified suitably”.

Kuttey stars Arjun Kapoor, Tabu, Konkona Sen Sharma, Radhika Madan, Naseeruddin Shah, Kumud Mishra and Shardul Bhardwaj. It releases in theatres on January 13.
