Luther: The Fallen Sun will act as a continuation of the acclaimed television series of the same, which began on the BBC back in 2010. The series introduces Avengers: Infinity War and The Suicide Squad star Idris Elba as the title character John Luther, a passionate detective who often uses violent methods to catch his culprits. Culprits who are usually killers of the most vicious, twisted nature. Running for five seasons, there had been rumors of a Luther movie for some time, with streaming giant Netflix finally getting the project off the ground and bringing the detective back for more adventures.
Thus, Luther: The Fallen Sun will act as the epic continuation of the award-winning television saga. Luther: The Fallen Sun picks up with the brilliant but disgraced detective John Luther now sitting behind bars. But when a gruesome serial killer begins terrorizing London, and haunted by his failure to capture the cyber psychopath who now taunts him, Luther decides to break out of prison to finish the job by any means necessary.
