Social media is rife with speculations that Bhumi Pednekar will be joining Mahesh Babu’s upcoming film, tentatively titled SSMB28, as the film’s third heroine. Pooja Hegde and Sree Leela have already been confirmed as the first and second heroines of the film so far.
The news of Bhumi Pednekar’s entry comes a few weeks after rumour mills were abuzz with the speculation that Bheemla Nayak-fame Samyuktha might also join the project. If this news turns out to be true, SSMB28 will mark Bhumi Pednekar’s debut in the Telugu film industry.
Bhumi made her debut in Bollywood with the 2015 film, Dum Laga Ke Haisha. She later went on to star in a number of successful films over the years.
SSMB28 will mark the third collaboration of Mahesh Babu and Trivikram after Athadu (2005) and Khaleja (2010), and the third collaboration of Pooja Hegde and Trivikram post Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava (2018) and Ala Vaikunthapuramulo (2020).
Thaman will be composing the music for this film. The post-theatrical streaming rights of SSMB28 have recently been sold to Netflix for a huge price.
