On the final day of the International Film Festival of India, megastar Chiranjeevi received the honour of being named “Indian Film Personality of the Year” (IFFI).
During the IFFI’s inaugural ceremony on November 20, Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting (I&B) Anurag Thakur announced the prize to the megastar. On Monday, Thakur gave him his congratulations for his contributions to movies over the previous four decades.
Pramod Sawant, the chief minister of Goa, and MoS I&B L. Murugan were present.
On this occasion, Chiranjeevi expressed his gratitude to the Indian government and IFFI. He remarked, “It’s a fantastic honour.”
Even after a decade in politics, he said, the bonds with his admirers had persisted. He claimed that once he returned to the film profession, his admirers welcomed him and showered him with affection.
“After I left politics, this (the film industry) became more valuable to me. This is an ethically pure profession. Please only enter this field if you are talented “He advised kids.
Chiranjeevi has appeared in more than 150 films throughout the course of a nearly four-decade acting career, with a focus mostly on Telugu cinema. He is recognised as one of Telugu cinema’s most prominent and successful performers.
With his performance in “Initlo Ramayya Veedilo Krishnayya” in 1982, he attracted the public’s attention. He is famous for his powerful battle scenes and vivacious dancing routines. His popularity has earned him the moniker “Megastar.”
He received the Padma Bhushan in 2006, India’s third-highest civilian honour, in recognition of his services to Indian film.
