Today saw the release of the teaser for Anurag Kashyap’s upcoming film, Almost Pyaar With DJ Mohabbat. Alaya F plays the lead role, and Karan Mehta makes his acting debut.
In the teaser, Alaya is depicted as a young woman who is captivated with Karan. There are also glimpses of two people enjoying a maggi and snow-capped mountains. Gulzar’s philosophy on love is stated in a voice-over: “It is a feeling, let it be that.”
In conjunction with the International Marrakech Film Festival, the movie had its global debut.
The film is a labour of love, and it’s been wonderful bringing it together with fantastic collaborations from Amit Trivedi and our lyricist Shellee, as well as the vibrant colour scheme of my DoP Sylvester Fonseca, our production designer Shazia, and the entire team, especially the vitality of its youthful protagonists.
Anurag’s chats with his daughter Aaliya over the years helped produce Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat, a love tale focused on Generation Z.

Anurag has previously directed romantic comedies such as Dev D (2009) and Manmarziyaan (2018). Amit Trivedi composed the soundtrack for both of those movies.
