Erhart, the first fiction feature film by director Jan Brezina, is a love drama set against the backdrop of the nation’s political climate. The 53rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI), taking place in Goa, had the Asian debut of a movie from the Czech Republic.
He claims that the movie tells the tale of a 23-year-old man who returns to his hometown to care for his mother and learns the perilous truth about his family’s history as well as the sinister legacy of the neighborhood.
Jan Brezina stated on Tuesday that the Czech Republic has undergone a 30-year transition from a socialist to a capitalist system.
“It was quite chaotic. The state privatised every piece of real estate it possessed. There were offences associated with that. That all occurred thirty years ago. But as of right now, it still has some effect. Therefore, my plan was to find out how the current generation of Czechs felt about it.
Erhart will be published in the Czech Republic in the spring or winter of next year, according to producer Marek Novak. He claimed that comparing the size of the film markets in India and the Czech Republic is meaningless when referring to his own nation’s film industry. With only 10 million people, our nation produces 30-35 fiction feature films annually, according to Marek Novak.
Marek further mentioned that there has been a significant backlog of movies waiting to be released in his nation since the outbreak since there are five to six premieres each week. The “Erhart” team thus wishes to wait till this rush slows down.
