The Marvel Cinematic Universe is always introducing new characters, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is set to be no exception. One new furry little critter who will be making an appearance in the May release goes by the name of Blurp, as confirmed by James Gunn following the release of the latest trailer.
Gunn will leave the Marvel family following the release of the movie, which will also signal the end of the line for a number of cast members who have been with the franchise for almost a decade. However, as Gunn celebrated the arrival of the newest teaser, he also had to mention the brown, fuzzy creature that caught everyone’s attention during when the trailer dropped during last night’s Super Bowl.
Responding to a question on his Twitter account, when asked the name of the newest addition to the franchise, Gunn simply replied, “Blurp,” and instantly created a hashtag based on the same name. While the writer-director didn’t elaborate on whether Blurp will become a regular addition to the MCU, it is clear that it is going to attract plenty of attention when Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 arrives this May.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will have plenty of laughs, adventure and tears according to the details released so far. The story will take Rocket Racoon on a personal mission of revenge, find out if Star-Lord and the new variant of Gamora can rekindle their relationship, and will lead to the departure of at least Drax. Which of the characters continue beyond the movie, which will find them pitted against both the High Evolutionary and Adam Warlock, is something that will not be revealed in any of the trailers and will only be known once the movie is released.
