The 2001 Telugu romantic comedy Kushi, which starred Pawan Kalyan and Bhumika Chawla in the key roles, is scheduled to have a theatrical re-release on December 31, the producers announced on social media on Monday. This follows the re-release of classics like Baba, Anbe Sivam.

Vijay and Jyotika starred in Kushi, the Telugu version of the popular Tamil film of the same name. SJ Suryah, a filmmaker and actor, made his feature film debut with Kushi. The movie centres on the lives of two young people who unwittingly meet paths at crucial junctures in their life and eventually form a love-hate bond after enrolling at the same institution.

The film, which AM Ratnam produced, had music by Mani Sharma and photography by PC Sreeram. Like its Tamil counterpart, the movie had commercial success before becoming a classic. Vijayakumar, Sudha, and Nassar were among the other actors in the movie.
