The first official teaser for Toni Collette and Monica Bellucci’s film Mafia Mamma has been made available online. In the teaser, a clumsy suburban mom is shown being pulled into the Mafia and given the duty of overseeing a Mafia family.
The movie centres on Toni Collette’s character, who succeeds her deceased grandfather in running the family company and assumes the top job at a Mafia family.
Catherine Hardwicke, best known for her work on Twilight, Thirteen, and Red Riding Hood, is the film’s director. In addition to Bellucci and Collette, Rob Huebel from The Descendents and Children’s Hospital plays a crucial role in the movie.
The film is produced by the independent studio Bleecker Street who are known for films like Logan Lucky, Eye in the Sky, The Lost City, Captain Fantastic, Trumbo, and Beasts of no Nation.
Mafia Mamma is currently scheduled for a theatrical release on 14 April 2023.
